Job Overview

Main Duties of the Job
Provide GP-led clinics for patients in custody
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and consultations
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medication and develop treatment plans in line with clinical guidelines
- Respond to urgent and emergency situations
- Work collaboratively with nursing, pharmacy, and mental health teams
Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with prison healthcare protocols

Person Specification
Education and Training – Essential
- GMC registration and licence to practise
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Knowledge and Experience – Essential
- Experience in primary care settings
- Knowledge of clinical governance and safeguarding
- Ability to manage complex cases in a challenging environment
Desirable
- Experience in health and justice settings
- Substance misuse or mental health experience
Skills and Abilities
